Preschool Eligibility Guidelines
In order to be eligible for the Missouri Valley Preschool Program, children must:
Be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 15 of the year they wish to attend.
Have a completed application with all required paperwork submitted and on file.
Students who live in the Missouri Valley Community School District and /or who have an IEP will be given priority.
In order to be eligible for the Head Start Program, children must:
Be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 15 of the year they wish to attend
Meet federal income guidelines and/or other eligibility criteria.
Tuition
4-year-olds: Tuition is free under Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP).
3-year-olds: Pay tuition. Tuition for the school year is approximately $17.00 per day.
3-year-old children with an IEP do not pay tuition.
If You Have Developmental Concerns
If you have concerns regarding the development (speech, learning delays, physical or motor concerns) of your child, who is between the ages of three to five years old, please call the Elementary office at (712)642-2706 x3. Parents and guardians of 3 and 4 year old students will be required to complete the Ages & Stages (ASQ) Screener and a Speech Screener before entering preschool.
Missouri Valley Community School District will host a Preschool Round Up for children who will be 3 or 4 by September 15 of the current year.

Application Information
The Preschool sign-up window is open from February 15 - June 1. Signing up after this date may require your child to be on a waiting list. We encourage early sign-up.
Please call the Elementary office to sign your child up for Preschool.
Please note – signing up does not guarantee enrollment. Children will be notified if they are placed on a roster and parents will enroll them using the online registration system through Infinite Campus. Online registration begins in mid-July.
We host 2 registration days in August. Preschool parents must attend one of these registration days to fill out required school forms and pay fees.
Required forms needed at registration in August include:
A certified birth certificate for your child or an approved form of identification that includes your child's birthday.
Immunization records for your child.
Proof of address: such as billing statements (Examples may include: bills from Mid American, Cox, or Century Link, or a rental or purchase agreement for the residence).
Physical form completed by a physician.
(Head Start Only) Income Verification Proof of family income. Family income for the previous 12 months, such as SNAP card, TANF/ADC, SSI, Child Support, 1040, W-2s, 8453, Self-Declaration, 12 months of check stubs, employment letter, etc.
*Additional forms may be required depending on the preschool class your child is placed in. These additional forms will be available during the registration days in August.
