Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:55pm, while our middle and high school students will be dismissed at 1:05pm.

Hunter Cox, Brian Derengowski, and Dominick McDowell competed in a Space Settlement Design Competition at South Dakota State University this past weekend! 🚀
Students formed teams and simulated industry roles to create a habitable colony on Mars. They developed functional designs within structural, operational, automation, and human engineering, and presented their work to expert judges.
Hunter worked as head of structural engineering, Brian worked within structural engineering, and Dominick worked in automation. What a great learning experience! 💫

On Tuesday, March 4, residents of the Missouri Valley Community School District will consider renewing the district’s voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and adopting a Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS).
Voted PPELs must be renewed by voters every 10 years to remain in place. Our existing levy has a rate of $1.34 per $1,000 of taxable property value, which would remain the same if at least 50% of voters approve the measure.
A Revenue Purpose Statement guides how Iowa school districts are able to spend revenue received from the statewide one-cent sales tax fund, known as SAVE. If approved, the RPS will provide MVCSD the flexibility to use this money in a manner most effective for our district and students. Without voter approved flexibility, we are limited it how we are able use the one-cent sales tax funds.
An approved RPS on March 4 would NOT lead to an increase in local property or sales taxes, and it also would NOT create a new tax or extend an existing tax
For those who plan to vote on election day, the polls will be open on March 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Harrison County residents will vote at the Rand Center (100 S. 4th St., Missouri Valley), while Pottawattamie County residents will vote at Crescent Elementary School (401 E. Welch St., Crescent).

This week of CTE month at MVHS is focused on the student organization for Industrial Technology, SkillsUSA! 🌟
SkillsUSA is the top workforce development organization for students. With over 413,000 members nationwide, SkillsUSA prepares students with hands-on skills and career-readiness in over 130 industries—from 3D animation to welding!
Now in its second year at MVHS, SkillsUSA is open to all 9-12 students enrolled in an Industrial Technology or welding course. This year, our students focused on welding, competing at a district qualifier where two students placed 2nd and 3rd, earning a spot at the state competition in April! 🏆
As a team, they have been mastering SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes, along with welding positions and joint types. We’re proud of their dedication and excited to see them compete at state!
Thank you for your continued support!
